Est. 2014

As the building of the mountain house got closer to completion, I started thinking that we needed something to display the year that the process (purchase of land) began.  I had quite a variety of ideas, but the best one came when my parents brought a really heavy (possibly cement) jug that had once been in my grandmother's basement.  I ❤️ this jug!!!!  It's quite large, and I just knew it would be the perfect base.

Since I was coming to "the farm" (that's what I call the mountain house) last night, I used my Cricut Explore yesterday to cut the design from brown vinyl so I could apply it to the jug.  The look is so pleasing to me!!!!  I mean, really . . . it's truly perfect!  The cotton stems were purchased from Hobby Lobby and Magnolia Market.  Huge thanks to my son, Chad, for taking a quality picture for me.

BIRTHDAY MEMORIES SUPPLY BOX & GIFT BAGS

Paper crafters often have friends and family who need a last-minute card for a birthday, and, of course, they usually ask for one when you have the least amount of time to make it. Then there are those times when you remember a co-worker’s birthday as you’re running out the door and don’t have time to make a card. In this tutorial, you’ll make a box to hold birthday supplies, and we’ll use the Birthday Delivery Bundle – complete with the Birthday Delivery Photopolymer Stamp Set, Birthday Friends Framelits Dies, and Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper – to create coordinating cards, gift card envelopes, tags, and gift bags. This box is very easy to put together, so you may want to use an extra pack of the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper to make a set for a gift.

The tutorial for this party-ready ensemble, designed by Buffy Cooper, can be found at Craft Project Central.

CREATING PRETTY CARDS - CARD CHALLENGE #76

Are you ready for a new sketch challenge?  I had the pleasure of designing this month's sketch for Creating Pretty Cards - Card Challenge #76 at Craft Project Central this month, and I chose a fun fold (Gate Fold) that looks like this:

Below is the card that I made, and you can see the FREE tutorial for it HERE:

My card features the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and coordinating dies.  I hope that you will create a card for the sketch challenge!  You can upload your card and see others that have been created for the challenge HERE.  Remember . . . for every 10 cards that are uploaded for the challenge, one lucky participant will receive a FREE one-month subscription to Craft Project Central.  If there are 20 cards uploaded for the challenge, there will be two winners, and so on.

ADORABLE PILLOW DECOR

I recently had an idea that I wanted to try, but it wasn't something that I could do (on my own) from start to finish because it involved sewing.  I shared the idea with my mother and, being her sweet, sweet, sweet self, she purchased the perfect fabric for my pillow project.  I had given her a long list of suggested pillow sizes and, not much later, she handed me a little stack of what looked like plain fabric bags--closed on three sides, open on one side.  I loved having a variety of sizes to work with, so I got busy!  From Chalk Couture, I chose the Farm House Chalk Transfer which has lots of fun images.  After playing around with which images fit the fabric, I chose to work with the following colors of Chalkology Paste:  White, Brownie, Charcoal, and Red.  This past Sunday, I stuffed the pillows, and my mother sewed up the unfinished side.  All that was needed was a decorative holder, which I purchased yesterday.  I love that it coordinates nicely with the Charcoal color on all of the pillows:

In case you're wondering, I chose to not mix fabric medium with my paste since these pillows are on the smaller side and the stuffing can't be removed for washing.  I'll just have to spot-clean them, although I hope they just won't get dirty.  ;-)

PICK A PUMPKIN CARD BOX SET

Need some Autumn cards? Need a Fall-themed, handmade gift idea? If the answer for either of these questions is yes, this project is for you! This project includes a box with a flap lid that holds six cards with six envelopes. It also includes three Autumn card designs…birthday, thank you, and friend. Make two of each to fill the box. This would also make a great card class!

If this card set doesn't set the mood for Fall, I don't know what will!  The tutorial for this project, which was designed by Christy Fulk, can be found at Craft Project Central.
